Lodging. Dining. Hospitality.

Where the river meets the forest, rustic luxury, farm-to-table dining, world-class fly fishing, and tranquil relaxation come together to create an unforgettable stay.

on the most famous stretch of the North Umpqua River.

A cozy interior of a wooden store or cafe with long wooden tables, chairs, and shelves filled with various items and books, warm lighting, and a door leading outside.

Since 1957

The Steamboat Inn is a unique place in the middle of the Umpqua National Forest. The Inn’s 60-year tradition of personalized hospitality and exceptional cuisine is kept alive by the Woodwards, the current owners, for whom the Inn is undeniably a labor of love. The Steamboat Inn offers a place to escape from the cookie-cutter chain hotels with disingenuous service, identical rooms, and predictable food.
While the Inn caters to fishermen, one does not have to be a fisherman to appreciate the beauty of the surrounding forest, the hypnotic Umpqua river that flows beside each cabin, and meals that are creatively prepared by a kitchen staff that includes gourmet chefs.

Dining at Steamboat Inn

When you stay with us, dining is one less thing to think about.

Start your morning with a relaxed breakfast, ease into the day with a casual lunch, or take a meal to go as you head out to explore the river and nearby trails. Everything is designed to fit your pace, be it slow and unhurried or out the door for the day’s adventure.

In the evening, dinner becomes more intentional. Our menus focus on elevated comfort food, thoughtfully prepared with seasonal ingredients and rooted in the region. An extensive Oregon-focused selection of wines, beers, and cocktails gives you plenty to choose from, whether you’re pairing something special or simply enjoying a drink as the day winds down.

It’s all here, ready when you are - one more reason to stay, not just visit.
